The recent Michigan Supreme Court ruled that the 2 year statute of limitations in the amended General Property Tax law is suspended to allow foreclosed taxpayers to file their claim with their county for the surplus paid to the county treasurer general fund. This applies to foreclosures that occurred before July of 2020. I have a 2017 foreclosure now pending in the Court of Appeals awaiting oral argument.
